Kevin Westhoeve (1997) is a Dutch photographer and medical doctor based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His work covers a wide array of subjects, which is known for nostalgic ambiance and attention for the unnoticed.

As a younger boy, Kevin had a fascination for exotic and interesting cars, which motivated him to buy his first camera at the age of 13. As his interests evolved, so did the themes of his photography. Growing up in a small coastal town deeply influenced his work, as the water and coastal life are still central themes in his work.
With moving to Amsterdam at the age of 20 for studying came a newly found passion for street photography, with all the unique and interesting faces and scenes the city has to offer. His study of Medicine further deepened his interest in humans, their stories and societal issues.

His work is known for nostalgic ambiance, attention for the unnoticed, and stylistically combines documentary with minimalistic fine art photography.

Kevin’s work explores the relationship between humans and their environment, whether in this is nature or an urban setting. His work demonstrates that nature is not an inert decor in which human life takes place, but rather a complex interplay in which both influence the other. In recent years, his focus has changed to themes like climate change, political and sociological themes and human coexistence with nature, which will be a key element in future long-term documentary projects. 

He is currently working on De Dapp’re Strijders, a long-term project focussing on the faces supporting Kevin’s favourite football club Ajax Amsterdam. Kevin is available to work under commission for commercial and editorial work.
